CORONADO COMES TOGETHER FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION

As we enter the summer season, we are encouraged by the growing support from businesses, organizations, and residents throughout Coronado who continue to stand beside us in our mission to prevent suicide and support mental wellness. Cade’s Day was founded in honor of Cade Keller, who died by suicide at just 16 years old.

Cade was pursuing a future in welding and dreamed of building a life through skilled trades. Today, his legacy lives on through scholarships for welding students and access to mental health and wellness services for those who need them most.

Reaching out can save lives, including your own.
Remember, if you see something, say something!

QPR AT STRENGTH IN SERVICE, JUNE 3, 6:30pm:

QPR stands for question, persuade, and refer. This is an evidence-based suicide prevention training program that teaches people how to recognize crisis warning signs and connect their loved ones with the appropriate care. This INCREDIBLE training is helpful for everyone, as we know that you just never know who you are talking to. This is open to persons 16 years of age and older. See the info in the Coronado Eagle for more details!

CADE’S DAY x URT

This month, we are proud to partner with local Coronado business URT on a special mental health awareness flannel collaboration. The shirt represents more than apparel. It is a conversation starter and a reminder that every one of us can play a role in recognizing warning signs, supporting those who are struggling, and helping build a stronger community.

FORGING FUTURES: WELDING SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT UPDATES

This month, two of our scholarship recipients were featured in an article in the Coronado Eagle. We are thrilled to report Jaycie completed her carbon steel qualifications!

We are also delighted for to receive the update from our first scholarship recipient, Navy Veteran, Caden! He is officially launched into what he refers to as his first “dirty job”! We especially appreciated the gloves.

Through partnerships with Workshop for Warriors and Strength in Service, Cade’s Day continues to fund welding scholarships and provide access to wellness and mental health resources. Every donation, sponsorship, and community partnership helps us expand our impact and reach more individuals who may be struggling in silence.
